A Remarkable Marathon Achievement!
We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of a unique project that commenced approximately 7 months ago and culminated in a spectacular event on Sunday, May 11th, 2024.
Our school had the honor of participating in the Unity Run Marathon, with an impressive turnout of 130 students. This marked the first collaboration between our school and the Unity Foundation, aimed at engaging in this extraordinary initiative. Divided into 3 groups, our students embarked on a relay race covering the entire marathon distance of 42 kilometers, accompanied by their physical education teacher Dr. Karaoglanidis Dimitris. Each student ran at least 1 kilometer. However, the significance of this endeavor extends far beyond mere physical activity.
Not only did our students enhance their personal well-being and inner motivation for physical fitness, but they also contributed to a noble cause by supporting hundreds of children in Malawi and other countries, granting them access to education for an entire year. Through this experience, our students developed empathy, altruism, and set an inspiring example for their peers.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our students for their remarkable efforts and commend our Physical Education team for their exemplary organization throughout the event.
